Al-Hilal in Pursuit of Heung-min Son

Heung-min Son, a standout player for Tottenham Hotspur over several years, stepped into the role of captain following Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich. Last season, the 32-year-old star from South Korea finally celebrated his first trophy with the London-based club.

To recap, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final, securing qualification for the next season’s Champions League, despite underwhelming performances in the Premier League. There’s speculation that Heung-min Son might have played his farewell season in Spurs’ colours.

The South Korean international, whose cap count stands at 133 appearances, has attracted significant interest from teams in Saudi Arabia. Reports by Santi Aouna of the French platform “Foot Mercato” suggest that Al-Hilal, among other clubs, is keen on g the skilled left winger.

The Riyadh-based team is eager to bolster its attacking lineup, previously targeting Victor Osimhen as their primary option. However, with the Nigerian striker rejecting an offer to move to the Middle East, Al-Hilal has reportedly reached out to Son’s representatives to explore a possible transfer.

Standing at 184 cm tall, Son started his journey with Tottenham Hotspur in August 2015, following a €30 million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen. Before ing the Premier League club, he had stints at HSV, FC Seoul, Dongbuk Middle School, Yukminkwan Middle School, Chuncheon Sports Council, and Chuncheon Buan Elementary School, where his footballing journey began.

In the recently concluded season, the South Korean star participated in 46 matches, scored 11 goals, and contributed 12 assists. His market value is currently estimated at 20 million euros.
